I am almost 1 year old!

Who would have thought how much enjoyment could be had in a year?

On December 9th I will be 1 year old and I have done so much
in that time. (I have yet to go to the seaside but mum is working on that!)
Other dogs like me were never given a chance to have a shot at
life, not even to see how they got on.
I know I am lucky.

This was me today while out on a walk with mum.

It is Autumn and the leaves are almost fallen from the trees
but there is still plenty of life out there, and there's
still plenty of life in me.

There's life everywhere...

...and strange things to see.

And lots of ways to get very very dirty!

2nd November 2012

This week we also got to meet the lovely Jenny.
She is Arann's new, and very beautiful, girlfriend who he met while he was away.
This Christmas they are going to be working together in
Disneyland Paris. Along with another very pretty girl called Ashley.

This is Arann and Jenny together.

They make a lovely couple don't they?

Arann wanted to do something special for tea, so he invited his other
brother, Luke, round to meet Jenny and made everyone
a homemade Nando's. He and Luke both worked at Nando's for a while, before
Luke went off to be a bodyguard and Arann followed his performing instincts.

Luke has been the bodyguard for the Dalai Lama
(or Ghandi - as Nik once said by mistake?!)
and some other very distinguished people.
He was also in charge of security on transport at the
Olympics. He is a very cool, very tall guy, but I can bring him
to his knees with one very unexpected blow to his lower anatomy.
I once bit his finger too (by mistake) and he ddn't like that much either!

This is Luke with;

Me, Ashlea, Jenny, Arann, and Dad.

I think Jen was impressed with how many Arann cooked
for and how nice it turned out too!

Dad and Luke liked it too, although Mum kept blinding Luke with the camera.

Benji has given Jenny the seal of approval so I think we may see more of her.
I hope so cos she is really nice and very gentle.

It's been a busy week!

29th October - 2012

The youngest member of the family, apart from me and my bros, is Arann.
He works away during the summer.
He's been away for six months.

It was Nik's birthday this week, he is now 26yrs old,
and Arann came home early to surprise him.

He knocked at the door wearing a mask and holding up a bottle of JD.
"Trick or Treat"
Nik was a little bit befuddled.
When Arann took the mask off and Nik saw who it was
he grabbed Arann by his jumper and
lifted him off his feet as he dragged him through the door.

As well as Mum two other people were in on the surprise.

Andy and Emma.

Andy collected Arann from the airport and brought him home.
He and Emma stayed for tea, and said how they loved the expression
on Nik's face when he realised it was his little bro at the door.

Families are so cool!

Big Skies

Well, we've made the most of the lovely weather today. Is it going to last?

Mum bought us all a new rubber stick the other week and its great, her only regret is
that it isn't longer, so we could all grab it comfortably. The one in the middle
gets a bit knocked about but none of us want to let go.

It was really lovely today.
I poked Benji in the eye, by accident of course!
I love running with the boys.
We're all very close.
Fudgie didn't want to go home!

Milo has a new sister!

Great News!
My brother Milo has got a new sister.
Her name is Isabelle (Izzy for short)

She came from Lee, our foster mum, so you can see she is another special girl.

Introducing Isabelle - isn't she lovely?

Their first meeting went really well.

Milo was smitten straight away.

And its obvious how Izzy has taken to him.

I think she is going to be very happy with her new family.
She has a great new mum and dad who will love her always, and
a brother who will ensure she enjoy's every day of the rest of their lives.

The Ferrets and Me.

I like the ferrets, they smell interesting.

I wish I could play with them but they can't come out of the run and I can't get in.

You could have got a bigger run so we could play together.

Ah well, a girl can dream.

Some day, some day...

ASHLEA SUFFERS AN INJURY!

My beloved friend Ashlea received some injuries the other day. She and her dog Ellie sat
in the front of Nik's van as we went off to Bishop's Wood for a walk.
Ellie is a really good girl and she looks after me when we go out, she's a bit old
and arthritic but she can still bust some moves when it comes to chasing the boys away!
Well, for some reason she decided she wanted to get close to the window in the van
and wrestled her way across Ashlea to get there.

This is what she did.

OUCH!

If you are interested and want to know more...some sites from around the world.

All these sites are there to help disabled dogs of varying breeds, and educate people about their abilities.  It is interesting to see how these dogs, who would normally not have been allowed to live without the intervention of such caring people, manage to live out their days in normal doggie ways.
Just because a dog cannot see or hear properly doesn't mean they do not feel the touch of a caring hand and the scent of goodness in someone's soul. These dogs can thrive and be just like any other dog that is treated with kindness and love. They are not beyond training and obedience as they are highly intelligent, they yearn to learn!

I am sharing the love today and hoping that wherever you are the sun is shining down on you.

Take time to reflect...

...and smell the flowers...

...and stretch out...and maybe have a nap!

And, if you have a mind to, perhaps you'd like to share my blog with your friends.

Talk about not knowing your arse from your elbow!

An upset carrot!

My Mum

This is my Mum.

Gelert

GELERT'S GRAVE

IN THE 13TH CENTURY, LLYWELYN, PRINCE OF NORTH WALES, HAD A HUNTING LODGE NEAR ABER. ONE DAY HE WENT HUNTING WITHOUT GELERT "THE FAITHFUL HOUND" WHO WAS UNACCOUNTABLY ABSENT. ON LLYWELYN'S RETURN, THE TRUANT STAINED AND SMEARED WITH BLOOD, JOYFULLY SPRANG TO MEET HIS MASTER. THE PRINCE ALARMED HASTENED TO FIND HIS SON, AND SAW THE INFANT'S COT EMPTY, THE BEDCLOTHES AND FLOOR COVERED WITH BLOOD. THE FRANTIC FATHER PLUNGED THE SWORD INTO THE HOUND'S SIDE THINKING IT HAD KILLED HIS HEIR. THE DOG'S DYING YELL WAS ANSWERED BY A CHILD'S CRY. LLYWELYN SEARCHED AND DISCOVERED HIS BOY UNHARMED BUT NEAR BY LAY THE BODY OF A MIGHTY WOLF WHICH GELERT HAD SLAIN, THE PRINCE FILLED WITH REMORSE IS SAID NEVER TO HAVE SMILED AGAIN. HE BURIED GELERT HERE. THE SPOT IS CALLED BEDDGELERT.

Meeting a GIANT!

I had another encounter recently too!
Nik has been taking us to a large wooded area that is quite a long way from where we live.
It's called Bishop's Wood and its a very popular place for people with dogs,
and horses. On one of our excursions we came across a giant. And I mean GIANT!
Nik ran off into the woods with Benji and Fudgie, and mum shouted something like,
'There goes Bear Grylls' after him.
We could hear him crashing through the undergrowth.
He was a bit bothered that Benji and Fudge would be frightened and
start a fight - not that they ever have - he was just being safe!
I have to say I was startled when I saw this collosus walking towards me and
even more so when he got up close.

                                                                                     How big are your feet?

Are they the same on the other side?

Even your shadow is bigger than me!

I can't even look into your face when you sit down!

Why is my dad letting that big dog lick his head?

Hey lady, wouldn't you prefer a little girl like me? I won't eat as much!

Help me someone, he's drooling down my neck!

This is my new friend Dillon.
He is an Irish Wolfhound.
I know a story about an Irish Wolfhound who lived many years ago.
His name was Gelert.

Meeting Milo

Recently mum took me for a ride in the car. I quite like riding in the front seat and
watching all the other vehicles, I'd really like to chase them.
When we got to our destination mum got me out and took me over to
where I could make out two people and another dog. I wasn't sure who the other dog
was but when I got up close I recognised his smell. It was my brother, Milo.
He has grown so big! I was somewhat overwhelmed with the occasion
and at first I wasn't keen on all the attention he was giving me but then
we went on a nice walk.

Here are some pictures of our time together.

I couldn't believe how big he'd got!

and I didn't like all the fuss...

I don't think he liked me telling him off!

But he wouldn't leave me alone all the same.

Now normally I don't like water, but it would seem Milo loves it.

and of course he had to splash me!

So I just had to have a word about it...

But mum told me off for being a spoilsport.

I listened to what she had to say...

...and I said 'Sorry.' (But whispered 'If you ever do that again hairy,
you'll be the one who's sorry!)

I hope I see him again soon.
